Based in Hungerford, Berkshire, Butts Brewery was established in 1994 using converted farm buildings by Chris Butt.
Two bottled beers Barbus Barbus and Blackguard were introduced in 1999 and more beers have since followed.
Each beer is primed, filtered and then re-seeded with Butts own yeast prior to bottling. Beers are then conditioned in the bottle for at least a month before they are released.
Now the brewery is organic with accreditation from the Soil Association. All Butts ales are now brewed using organic malt and organic hops are used when suitable varieties are available.
