Description:
Pronounced ‘blaggard’ is Butt’s popular porter, introduced as a winter brew but now likely to be found all year round. The label features a variation on the brewery’s playing card joker logo, showing a ‘jester with attitude’, as Chris describes it. Ingredients-wise, the only information the ever-secretive Mr Butt will supply is that he uses British malt and hops.Traditionally handcrafted porter brewed using the finest quality British malt and whole hops. Very dark in colour with a rich deep ruby. www.bottledbeer.co.uk "In the nose is immediate burnt tar or asphalt, along with the impression of a powdery chocolate or cocoa powder, plus some plummy fruit. The condition is good, with a large and fluffy head sitting on ruby brown body. In the mouth it is dry, with the cocoa and chocolate sitting aboard a firm, slightly vinous malt, with dark fruit in abundance. There are phenols that play lightly on the tip of the tongue throughout the finish until a bitter, dry and moreish aftertaste."
