Description:
Brewed entirely naturally from the finest English ingredients and is unfiltered and unpasteurised (330ml). The name ‘Bodger’ records the famous chairmaker of yore. he beer pours a light copper colour, with a white, bubbly head that lasts quite impressively all the way down the glass. Nose is very fruity, with notes of lime (reminiscent of a lime cordial), pineapple and melon. Alcohol is also evident in the nose, in the manner of a fruity liqueur. The first sip is initially sweetish, with pineapple notes to the fore. This is followed by bitter, citrusy hops, with an accompanying spritzy fizz on the tongue and, slightly later, an alcoholic warmth on the back of the throat. The malt becomes more apparent, too, as a light toffee character that creeps up on you the more you drink. Lime, mandarin oranges and light, syrupy malt are also present. Finish is similarly citrusy, leaving a lingering malty bitter-sweet coating on the tongue. However, on the whole it is surprisingly clean and refreshing for such a strong beer, and indeed it has a much lighter fruity character and less of a malt emphasis than many barley wines. All in all, delicious. Courtesy of www.bottledbeer.co.uk
